“Did I say you could stop?”

The authority in his voice makes me shiver, and my “No” comes out in a breathy gasp. The button opens with a sound snap, and I swallow, awaiting further instructions.

His breath ghosts over my neck as he licks and bites where he pleases.

Except for soft moans, nothing else escapes my throat.

  “Unzip yourself.”

My hand trembles as I grasp the zipper and pull it down. “Now what?” I ask, hoarsely.

A rough chuckle on my skin makes my nipples pucker almost painfully.

He adjusts himself so that he is leaning over me with one elbow, his right hand resting on my stomach. “Now use my hand to get yourself off.”

  I falter at this.

  He raises a brow.

The look in his eyes is so dominating that my heartbeat quickens with excitement and my mouth turns dry. “I… don’t—?”

He takes my hand and wraps it around his, all the while watching me. “Go on.”

  “I- I don’t know how,” I whimper.

Jace leans down to kiss me, an open mouthed kiss that robs me of my ability to think. At the same time, our entwined hands reach down and he releases my mouth. “Do you usually start off with one finger?”

It takes me a second to process what he means and it excites me, making me feel a little ashamed and guilty. It makes my pussy throb even more. “One,” I whisper.

He looks pleased. “Guide my hand.”

I need something, anything inside of me right now, so I abandon my dignity and my pride while seeking out the pleasure I know his touch will bring. I guide his hand into my jeans and feel him part the barrier of my panties.

“Use my fingers to fuck yourself.”

My lips are parted as I feel his finger tracing my entrance and then I grab onto his wrist and slowly push his finger inside of my pussy. It’s thicker than my own and more calloused. My breath catches at the way I can feel it move inside of me. I slowly pull him out then force it back in and let out a gasp.

Jace is starting to look strained as if he’s using all his self-control right now. Two more thrusts and he wrenches control from me, shoving his fingers in and out of me.

I cry out his name, “Oh, God! Jace!” He’s harsh and rough, and I love it. My orgasm hits me, and even as my pussy clenches on his thick fingers, he keeps fucking me with them and my post-orgasmic bliss doesn’t even linger, as I'm thrown into another orgasm, making me writhe under him.

He frees his other hand from under him then pushes my shirt and bra up to suck on my breast. His tongue flicks my nipple sharply.

That wanton sound once again escapes my lips. “Jace, I c-can’t…” I beg him and he bites down on my nipple, making me scream as I come again, this time stimulated by both the pain and the pleasure.

When he finally withdraws his fingers, I see him lick off my juices, and without thinking, I grab his hand and bring his fingers to my mouth to clean them off.

His eyes darken. “If you don’t want me to fuck your brains out right now, you’d better stop that.”

As much as I wouldn’t mind being skewered on his cock right now, my pussy is throbbing with a dull ache from yesterday and I feel like I should give my body a break. So, I let go of his fingers and then see the hard bulge in his pants. My face flushes as I reach for it, curious.

He grabs my wrist, stopping me. “No.”

  I frown. “Why not?”

Jace leans forward and kisses me gently. “We’ll get there soon. But this was for you and a little bit for me.” He slides off the bed and drags me along. “Go change. I’ll drop by your place in an hour. Let’s order in.”

“But what about—?” I stare at his aroused bulge.

He grasps my chin, forcing me to look at him. “Have you ever gagged on a dick before?”

I shake my head, both mortified and a little turned on.

With a chaste kiss to my lips, he says, “I’ll train you, slowly.”

I’m out the door before I realize what he’s just said.

  Train me?

I brace myself against the wall of the shower stall, groaning as the cold water calms me down.

Halley’s innocence is so addictive that I want to take every opportunity I can to corrupt her. I want her to be branded by the shape of my cock, leaving no hole of hers untouched.

And I have a feeling she would enjoy all of it.

She has an openly curious nature, which makes it really hard for me to try and take this thing slow. When she had reached towards my pants, I wanted to drag her to her knees and fuck her face. But I’m not entirely sure she’s ready for that yet. Halley is still exploring what we are, and I want her to be comfortable as much as I want her to walk around my apartment with a vibrator in her.

I exit the shower, toweling off and scowling when I see my hard length.

I know if I were to go upstairs, she probably wouldn’t be against another session, but I want a relationship with her just as much. Romancing her, seeing her wide smile, having her small frame tucked into my side as we watch a movie together, I want all of those moments with her.

The more time I spend around this woman, the greedier I’m becoming.

I pull on a shirt and a pair of pants then make my way to her place.

I raise my hand to knock just as she opens it abruptly. The disappointed look on her face makes me arch a brow. “Were you expecting someone else?”

“The pizza delivery guy is supposed to come up.” She looks over my shoulder.

“And you were going to greet him like this?” I run my eyes over the tiny loose shirt slipping off her shoulder, followed by the shorts that barely cover anything, her own hair damp, fuzzy unicorn slippers on her small feet.

“What’s wrong with my clothes?” Halley frowns.

I pause to wonder if she’s ever seen a porno. I nudge her in. “I’ll take the pizza.”

“This is my house, you know,” she argues, displeased, elbowing me. “I can take my own damn pizza.”

I grab her wrists to keep her in place and promise, “I’ll pay for it.”

She gives me a suspicious look. “Why?”

So the delivery guy doesn’t see you looking like a tempting morsel.

“I’m not always a cheapskate. Now go put on the rest of your clothes.”

She glares at me. “The air conditioning isn’t working in my apartment. I don’t want to die of heat stroke.”

Hearing footsteps behind me, I immediately shove her behind me and deal with the delivery guy as quickly as possible.

She doesn’t look happy when I turn around. Her arms are crossed over her chest.

I know I’m in trouble. “What?” I ask, warily.

She takes a step forward and pokes me in the chest. “Don’t boss me around! I wear whatever I want and if you have a problem with that—”

I raise the pizza box over my head and swoop down, stealing her words with a kiss that is wet and filthy.

After a few seconds, she looks dazed.

I use my free hand to brush the pad of my thumb over her soft lower lip, murmuring, “I don’t care what you wear. Roam naked around the house if you want. But only in front of me.”

“I don’t belong to you, you know?” Her words are soft.

My lips curve as I say, “I think you do.”

Her entire face turns red but she doesn’t refute my words, instead grabbing the box, sliding onto the long couch, and choosing to ignore me.

It’s always fun to render her speechless.

But there is something I need to talk to her about. I sit on the adjacent armchair and study her. “Halley.”

My serious tone makes her look up from her ongoing sulk and she grouses, “What?”

My lips twitch at the little display of temper but it doesn’t deter me from asking the question that’s been bothering me ever since our trip. “Why did you panic on the road when we were going back to the hot
el?”

Halley stills and then a helpless expression flits on her face. “I don’t know.”

“You looked scared out of your mind. And you said that your mother told you not to go there.”

She looks uncertain and her fingers pull at the edge of the pizza box, tearing off a bit of the cardboard. “I don’t know. I just…” She hesitates. “…I’ve never acted like that before. The rain and the road and…” She pauses as if trying to get her thoughts in order, and then after a moment, continues slowly, “This might sound a little strange but it felt like I was living in two different moments in time. The weather and the way the road looked, I don’t know what it reminded me of exactly, but it was like I’d gone down that road before with my mother.” Her face pales with signs of strain and her breathing goes ragged. “I can’t remember! I’m sorry.”

“Hey, hey!” Her face is white as a sheet, and I grab her gently. “Forget it. Look at me.” When she does, the stark look in her eyes leaves me shaken.

“I’m too scared to remember,” she whispers. “Every time I try, my whole body just grows so cold.”

Whatever trauma she went through probably had something to do with that path. It was very likely her mother took her down that road when they were escaping and something had happened there.

My eyes narrow as I recall the map I’d seen crudely drawn on the case file. If one began on that road and then ran through the woods surrounding it, they were very likely to end up at the parking lot Halley had been found wandering in.

Had Lily Cooper not even made it out that far?

I keep my thoughts to myself, and drag Halley towards me, distracting her.

I have a feeling we’ll find plenty of answers on Monday.

“Those are two new accounts. I managed to secure the smaller one with no problem but Pizenro wants to meet with you once, since you’ll be heading their project.”

  Raymond looks vaguely irritated.

I flash him a look of concern. “You all right?”

A small frown settles on the face of the usually soft-natured man. “I don’t understand these new generation cell phones. It keeps asking me for touch verification every time I try to open it.”

I glance at the phone he’s holding up and grin. “Halley got you that, didn’t she?”

When he blinks, I inform him, “That’s the latest model. You should have just gotten the same model you had before.’’

Raymond lifts his new phone and stares at it. “But she said this would suit me. And she said it can take really good pictures. See?” He shows me a picture of the two of them at dinner from yesterday.

I grin on seeing the chandelier type multicolored earrings hanging from Halley’s ears. Their outrageousness steals the whole picture. I also see the soft happiness in Halley’s eyes and the love shining in Raymond’s as he has one arm around his adopted daughter.

I haven’t yet told him Halley and I are together as I have a feeling he won’t take it so well. Maybe I should tell him after her internship is over. “That’s good quality,” I tell him as I see Kendall in the doorway. “Tell her to give you the guide. That would be helpful.”

“I never needed one before,” he mutters just as Kendall knocks on the door. “Caleb wants to see you and Halley.”

“Kendall.” Raymond smiles at her in greeting and then shoots me a worried look. “Is Halley in trouble?”

“No,” I assure him. “We were supposed to brief him on something. I’ll see you later.” Then with an afterthought, I add, “You should get that picture framed.”

The older man beams at me. “What an excellent idea.”

At times like these, I often muse that Raymond is more suited to being a doting grandfather than an office drone. I watch him leave.

Kendall grins at me. “So, you and Halley, hmm?”

  “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I say, stone-faced.

She pokes me with the folder in her hand. “Don’t try to hide it. We already got the details out of her.”

  My smile slips. “What details?”

“That you went to her to her hometown to help her with something and then the lights went out and—”

“Get out!” I push at her when she leers at me.

She makes kissing sounds over her shoulder as she leaves, laughing all the while.

The more time she spends with Caleb, the more devious she’s becoming. But as I walk over to get Halley, I think to myself that the look in her eyes has brightened significantly since she and Caleb got together. The hollowness that had been there when I first saw her, the raw look of hunger in her eyes, the dull acceptance, they’ve been meticulously and ruthlessly erased by her husband and childhood love, he’s replaced them with joy, mischievousness, and contentment.

  I smile to myself.

However, that turns into a scowl when I see the man leaning over Halley’s desk, pointing to something on her screen. His hand is on the back of her chair as he’s leaning in too close to my woman. My surly temper ignites, and I have the urge to grab the man by his shirt and punch him. However, this is the office and beating somebody up who’s flirting with my girlfriend might not reflect so well on me, so I have no choice but to glower at him.

The man sees me from the corner of his eye and he immediately straightens up.

I recognize him as Richard Templeton from the IT department. He doesn’t even work on this floor! I stare at him coldly.

He swiftly removes his hand from the back of Halley’s chair, who is seemingly oblivious to both of us, her screen running a complicated program.

“Do you have some business here, Richard?” I put my hand on Halley’s shoulder.

She glances up at me in surprise. “Hey! Richard had some question about—”

“Caleb wants to see us. Richard can wait.”

She stares at my ferocious scowl and her entire expression tightens. “Is this about…?” When I give a brief nod, she jumps to her feet, locking her computer. “Sorry, Richard. I’ll help you out later.”

“If she has time,” I add.

  She won’t.

  I’ll make sure of it.

The man looks at me warily.

I put one hand on Halley’s back, pleased when his eyes narrow in annoyance.

  She’s already mine, you fuckhead.

Halley is too tense to notice the silent tension between me and her new friend.

I’m grateful for that because I don’t want to open my mouth and let her know just how much of a possessive asshole I’ve learned I can be.

When we reach Caleb’s office, I’m not surprised to see Lucas standing behind Caleb. From my understanding, if there’s anyone my brother-in-law considers a friend, it’s him.

Halley, however, freezes when she sees the calm lawyer, and she shoots me a questioning look.

  “It’s all right,” I mutter. “I had a feeling he’d be here.”

My words seem to give her some confidence.

When I catch Lucas smirking in my direction, I see that my hands are on Halley’s shoulders. I scowl at him but my eyes move towards the nervous-looking man sitting across from Caleb.

He’s well dressed and looks to be in his mid forties. And yet, he’s hunched over like a teenager who knows he’s in trouble.

Kendall slides the door shut behind me.

“Halley, take a seat and meet Howard Renard,” Caleb says. “Howard, here, forged the passports that you found and he’s got quite an interesting tale to tell.” Caleb’s smile is cold. “The floor is yours, Mr. Renard.”

The man swallows nervously and shoots Caleb a fear-stricken look.

This makes me wonder what exactly Caleb has done to him to put that particular look in his eyes.

My brother-in-law just smiles pleasantly. The only person Caleb smiles at and actually means it, is my sister. For everyone else, that smile usually ends in a lot of damage.

“I…” Howard begins, shooting Halley a quick look. “Lily came to me with a kid with
her. The girl was nine or ten.” He hesitates then goes on, “We were classmates in high school and I don’t know how she found out about my side business all those years later but she came to me and she was scared. I didn’t know what trouble she was in but she was quite messed up. I didn’t want to help her because I didn’t like her back in school and I was doing quite well for myself, see, so I didn’t need her money.”

Halley takes a step back, leaning into me.

I can feel the tremors in her body even as her face is calm.

“She left but then she came back and threatened me with all these things she somehow knew about me. And she said she’d go to the police. S-So, I made her four sets of documents each, for her and the kid, and she left. I’d nearly forgotten about it, but a few months later, I got a call and this person asks me whether I had made a document for Johanne West and Rose West. It was one of the identities I gave Lily and the girl. I thought it was the cops, so I hung up. I got another call a day later and I took out my phone line. Three days later, my whole workplace is trashed and the roster that I kept was missing.” He’s pale as he finishes his story, “I packed up and left the next day. Didn’t want the feds looking me up.”

There’s a terrible silence in the wake of his words and it’s Halley who breaks it, “Was it a man on the other line?”

Howard stares at her, blinking uneasily. “No, it was a kid the first time, a boy. And then it was a woman the next time.”

  “A kid?” Halley looks confused.

I recall the young policeman who she claims to be her friend. But for now, I don’t say anything.

“He seemed really young.” Howard is sweating now. Then he glances at Caleb, his lips trembling. “Look, I told her everything I know. Please let me go now.”

Caleb waves his hand at him.

I watch the man get up, clearly relieved.

“Just one more thing.” Halley slips herself free from my loose grip and walks towards him. As soon as she reaches him, she grabs him and knees him in the balls. Her usually sweet voice is vicious as she sneers. “This is for humiliating my mother that day.”
